Many cultures around the world don’t have a word for rape, it’s just another way of having intercourse.  Anyone with common sense can understand how this would make it impossible for there to be a law against forced sexual acts, you can’t forbid what you don’t perceive.  It is a testament to the incredible injustice done to women under patriarchal rule, in extreme cases.

Language forms the world around us in our eyes, our eyes don’t form the language.  Step outside your linguistic bounds once or twice per day to recognize situations otherwise overlooked without regard.
