IF I CAN EASE ONE LIFE THE ACHING

WHAT THE BRAIN CANNOT COMPREHEND, THE NERVES STILL FEEL

Notes

On my most recent backpacking trip through a remote section of Florida, I came across a Dinosaur basking in the sun.  After internally-laughing at its big head and little arms, I strolled down the path with new-found respect for its ownership of the ecosystem.  An ecosystem which I was a visitor within, only there for a moment.
This solidifies my stance against zoos, not only are the animals held captive, but these compounds remove the fear of being eaten.  Venturing to the wild, standing across the bank from a creature that could devour you for lunch is a great reminder that humans aren’t as powerful as projected; we just invented cages.

Update:

My blog has seen little from me this semester.  A few updates on recent events shall happen in the next hour or so.  Once finals week ends, and I’ve used every combination of letters in the English language to satisfy my professor’s insatiable thirst for printed word, I will get this Vegetarian/Environmental Tumblr off the ground.  Thank the Lord I have Thoreau and Whitman to keep me sane.

Weekly Vegetarian / Environmental Blog

Who: Jordan. English Major. Journalist aspirations. Resident of the South. Vegetarian.

What: Postings on my Tumblr will consist of the ins-and-outs of being a vegetarian (6 months strong, whooo!) and other environmental issues seen as intriguing enough to gain a response.  Please feel free to bring any articles that interest you to my attention.

Where: Tumblr will be my blog spot to let my written word loose upon the wurldwhydeweb.

When: My goal is one post per week.

Why: Why not?

How: By hitting the keys with my fingertips, this is getting to be a pointless line of questioning. Just tune in later to read the blog.

“Suppose that scientists could erase certain memories by tinkering with a single substance in the brain.  Suppose they could make you forget a chronic fear, a traumatic loss, even a bad habit.
Researchers in Brooklyn have recently accomplished comparable feats, with a single does of an experimental drug delivered to areas of the brain critical for holding specific types of memory, like emotional association, spatial……or motor skills.”
